Union Ironworkers are taught the most stringent safety standards in the classroom. Ironworkers rely on those standards in the workplace.

Union Ironworkers are the safest in their craft. Each apprentice and journeyman learns construction safety regulations and standards set by the U.S. governement officials.
The International Ironworkers Union requires its officers, staff, and all members to be drug and alcohol free. Through IMPACT's National Substance Abuse Program, ironworkers are tested to meet the requirements of drug-free work-sites. A national database lets employers know instantly that a drug-free workforce is ready and available.
